Business Challenge
A global automotive parts manufacturer was under intense pressure to reduce costs and improve productivity. At the same time, it needed to create a common culture amongst it’s various operating companies in Europe and North America.
Solution
A detailed deployment and stakeholder engagement plan was developed to achieve the cost and productivity targets of the firm. Project selection frameworks were developed and the necessary project portfolio management infrastructure and governance mechanisms were created. Green Belts and Black Belts were trained and coached, while the business was engaged in the culture of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma problem solving.
Business Outcome
In the first year, the business had 57 Black Belts and 89 Green Belts trained globally, over 120 projects completed, and over $8MM in savings in the first year. This project realized a 3 month return on investment.
